About Us

Hey there! Here's a quick little bit about me and this blog.

I'm Lisa - blessed to be Mom to seven wonderful children - Melissa, Grace, Jessica, Allison, Abigail, Brett Henry and now Stella Claire (who just arrived home from China!) . My wonderful husband is Jeff - he is my rock and supports me in everything I do, even when he thinks my ideas might be a little crazy. We've been married for 21 years but it really doesn't seem that long.... life travels fast you know. We recently built our hope to be forever home in the Texas Hill Country and love, love, calling it our home. Little by little we are pulling our dreams together.  Our home is loud, crazy, giggly, chaotic and occasionally quiet (when they are all sleeping! ha!) - I wouldn't trade it for anything.  We are a homeschooling family, which means I learn right along with the children in our daily lives. Lastly, but most importantly, I am a Christian and want my children to grow up to be Godly people with His spirit and word in their hearts - He guides our lives.

As long as I can remember, I've loved sewing. My Dad bought me my first sewing machine over 20 years ago and I've tinkered at it ever since. He generously bought me my latest sewing machine too - an Elna which I love! As a little girl, I sat at my Grandma's feet playing with her button box and watching as she effortlessly pieced and sewed her creations. I was a lucky recipient of many handmade dresses, matching doll dresses and nightgowns.  I try to do the same for my daughters and with six of them now - I've had lots of practice! Pink frilly girls who love receiving my handiworks for them.

When I decided to blog, I envisioned a place where I can document our days and share my love of photography, sewing, and adoption.  I hope you leave inspired and happy.

~Lisa

P.S.  My camera is a Nikon D60 (in case you were wondering)
P.S.S. Stella Claire is our first adopted child and we brought her home from China in April of 2014. We love all our children so much and watching them bloom and grow is a pleasure we enjoy!
